Erin is the Director of Sales and Marketing for Por La Mar Nursery. Por La Mar Nursery began as a passion in Santa Barbara, California for Ronald and Patricia Caird. The name Por La Mar or “By the Sea” began inception in 1972 with 6 acres, an Orange VW Van and a lot of hard work. Ron, a horticulturalist, and Pat, a school teacher (thus the van), set off on a journey that has lasted for over 49 years.
Por La Mar is known in the floriculture industry as a top grower of ornament blooming and foliage plants that fill homes, restaurants, hotels, and gardens nationwide-through physical stores and websites. Por La Mar prides itself in being the First American Grown certified potted plant producer in the USA since 2015.
Glenna Hecht is an accomplished speaker, trainer, consultant, and author as well as a certified SPHR, Senior Professional in Human Resources. She has an impressive 25-year history leading HR and employee training, along with engagement programs for major high-growth corporations such as Starbucks, The Levy Restaurants at Walt Disney, Accenture, Romano’s Macaroni Grill and Marshall Field’s. She also partners with numerous floral organizations to help guide their future with strong teams and new strategies. Glenna knows that a great people strategy is measured through execution and results; couple this with her “do the right thing” philosophy and you have a winning combination that has led to significant notable outcomes to her clients’ ROI.
Glenna holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Indiana University. Since 2007, she has been an adjunct professor at Collin College where she instructs Human Resource Certification Courses.
Cindy Hanauer is the 4th generation of her family in the floral industry and has achieved 40+ successful years encompassing every retail channel of the business: traditional florist, mass market and e-commerce. Cindy has held executive positions with the largest retailers in the world such as Kroger, Winn-Dixie and 1-800-Flowers, successfully managing both the back-end supply chain for 25+ distribution centers and the customer-facing merchandising and operations teams for 2,500+ retail locations. Her core competencies include business strategies, team reorganizations, disruptive technology launches, operational training, innovative supply chain integrations, e-commerce development and award-winning bottom-line results.
In 2014, Cindy launched Grand Central Floral, a B2B education platform to provide knowledge and information to all sectors of the floriculture community. Cindy has gained international recognition as the most experienced influencer and futuristic visionary in the industry with her website, newsletter and social media platforms followed by 10,000+ members, worldwide.
Cindy shares her expertise with the public through television, radio and speaking appearances and writes frequent columns for numerous industry trade magazines. She offers consultation to global investors and analysts, is a trustee for the American Floral Endowment and volunteers on many industry boards and committees.
In her Northeast Florida community, Cindy works with a group of volunteers who help senior citizens age successfully and independently in their own homes. She is also a philanthropic vocalist and performs with three vocal organizations where 100% of the concert proceeds are donated to local organizations who provide free family services, medical support, dreams and comfort to children with terminal or life-threatening illnesses.
