IFE and our co-location partners are proud to focus on improving sustainability.

Learn more below about our sustainability practices in Chicago.

At the 2016 International Floriculture Expo, Random Acts of Flowers collected hundreds of fresh cut flower donations from exhibitors. Staff and volunteers worked through the night to process and load the flowers onto delivery trucks, then delivered re-purposed bouquets to nearly 300 patients at Waterford Nursing and Rehabilition and Northwestern and Presence St. Joseph Hospitals, as well as veterans in the Chicago area.

In 2016, Chicago Restore collected and processed 90 pallets of potted plants and hard goods from IFE exhibitors which were then sold at their stores. All proceeds were donated to the Habitat for Humanity to help provide affordable homes to families in need.

In 2016, United Fresh and it’s volunteers collected donations from the convention floor totaling more than 51,000 pounds of produce and assorted dry food to the Greater Chicago Food Depository which supported a network of 650 pantries, soup kitchens and shelters across Cook County.
