Ghean Maksimow, co-founder of Bow Genie International, had a flower named in her honor at the International Floriculture Exposition that was held virtually on September 16, 2020. Named, Genie, the lavender breed of dahlia was bred by the Miyoshi Company and Ball SB., a division of Ball Horticultural Company.

The floral community was able to get together in person in 2021 at the International Floriculture Exposition in Miami Beach. This provided Maksimow with a place to deliver her acceptance speech and further communicate the relevance of the flower to the community. She then caught up with Cindy Hanauer who awarded her with the honor. The two discussed the significance of the award, what kind of medicinal powers the flower has and much more.
