The Importance of Focusing on Floral
An interview with Kim Boin, Key Account Manager at Bayview Flowers
Kim Boin stumbled into the floral industry when she was just 14 years old, due to a family friend owning 4 floral shops in the Greater Toronto Area, or the “GTA” as she calls it. Kim was able to gain a wealth of category knowledge on all the different varieties of flowers, as well as learning what it means to run a shop. Many years later Kim was able to put her skills to the test when she was given the opportunity to take the lead on managing one of the 4 floral shops owned by the same family friend. Now in her current role as a Key Account Manager at Bayview Flowers, we picked Kim’s ear on a variety of topics ranging from: the notable differences between the Canadian and American consumer, how each country is impacted by our industries notable holidays, how to plan for the summer season, and how she’s looking forward to experiencing a different side of Floriexpo this year with her role in sales.
