Jet Fresh Flower Distributors is a family-owned and operated importer, distributor and grower of premium, fresh-cut wholesale flowers from around the world. Founded in 2008, the company was built with the intention of forming long-lasting, quality relationships that help support the growth and expansion of the floral industry.
Ryan Black has been the marketing director at Jet Fresh Flower Distributors for over 10 years. His background and experience have allowed him to produce cutting-edge designs and content for Jet Fresh Flower Distributors as well as their partner farms, providing their customers with a wholesale flower buying experience that is as unique as it is efficient.
We caught up with him to talk about the floral trends that have stuck out to him this year, how he’s helping customers solve their 2023 challenges and more.
Floriexpo: What are some of the top color or design trends that have resonated with you this year?
Ryan Black: Color trends – we saw a lot of interest in natural and dusty and creams/brown tones for weddings. As well as more vibrant colors! Some of our most popular #HippyPsychedelicRoses (color-enhanced) were Blue, rainbow, coffee-tones, navy, green and dark purple.
How do you think those trends will further evolve or impact what we might see next year?
We anticipate this color trend to continue. We love color and have no fear trying new flowers and color-enhanced options.
Any specific challenges that you’ve helped your buyers sort through this year in a way that is different or new than in previous years?
Supply issues, transportation issues, weather issues and more affected all of us. We discuss all these problems and more industry-related ups and downs on our new podcast, “2 Fat Guys Talking Flowers.”
What’s one thing you’re excited to showcase or discuss with attendees at Floriexpo this year?
We look forward to displaying this year more of our amazing roses from our boutique farm, Jet Fresh Growers. As well as the new rose creations from our Hippy Psychedelic Roses and Speaking Roses collections. Also new to the Jet Fresh lineup for 2023 is Sun Valley Farms’ USA-grown flowers!
