Founded in 1991 by floral industry pioneer Peter Hannaford, The Elite Flower has grown from a small rose farm in Colombia to nearly 1.450 hectares spanning the world. They specialize in roses, spray roses, alstroemerias and gerberas.
Roses were on display in a big way at The Elite Flower booth during Floriexpo 2022, where the team discussed challenges with cost increases and logistics that are being felt by so many across this industry. Some of these issues have been discussed for years but what was different and especially prominent this year were questions related to how the company is approaching issues related to sustainability.
“The strictness of our eco-responsibility processes and setup is something people really want to know about and explore, “said Manny Cantor from The Elite Flower. “We have a shared responsibility when it comes to ensuring what we’re doing works for our people. Our customers want and need to see that sustainability is always present in our products. We need to take care of our people and we’ve been more than happy to talk through what that looks like.”
